At the end of September I reported a brief tidbit about Warner Bros. seeking Steven Spielberg to direct Gods and Kings, a classic-style Biblical Epic about the life of Moses. According to Twitch Film, Spielberg is apparently showing interest himself to direct the Dan Lin and Matti Lesham produced film. Written by Michael Green and Stuart Hazeldine (Hazeldine also co-wrote the upcoming Paradise Lost), the film tells the story of Moses from birth to death — including the epic Ten Commandments tale. Presumably Spielberg would tackle this after Robocalypse.
I’m all for this — Spielberg has done just about every genre except “Biblical Epic,” so he might as well try something he hasn’t done before (as he is wont to do). Plus anything that stops Indiana Jones 5 from being made is something to celebrate.
