Needless to say with the title: SPOILER ALERT down below!
Well, isn’t this a surprise! It seems Marc Webb, the director for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been keeping quite the secret. Although the movie is not set to premiere until May 2nd, 2014 in the US, it has been released in the UK and most of the comments are not about the film itself; it’s the credits after the film.
In the post credit scene, viewers are treated to a sequence where Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Havok (Lucas Till), and Toad (Evan Jonigkeit) are in the midst of fighting William Stryker (Josh Helman) and his military brigade, which is from the upcoming film X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Integrating these two franchises together was made possible by Mr. Webb. Held by a contractual obligation by Fox Studios, they allowed him to direct The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as long as Sony Pictures promoted the X-Men film for free.
Although this scene is being reported by UK fans, Fox and Sony have no intentions in continuing a story line that will intertwine these two very different universes. Which, to me, is a good thing since Marvel has enough on it’s hands with superhero universe.
