Yesterday the latest poster for Marvel’s The Avengers was released and in addition to that they said there would be a new extended trailer released today. Well that time has come and below you can check out the trailer that should convert the doubters into believers. Without further adieu here is the best trailer thus far from Joss Whedon and his Avengers.
Below you’ll find the Apple Trailer in HD along with a youtube version as well
I’ll give you a few seconds to gather yourself and let that awesomeness soak in. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . OK, all better? Good, now lets get into what the heck we just saw. Now I’m sure at any moment there will be a ton of super fanboys/and girls out there slowing down the trailer frame by frame and trying to gather as much information as they can about the villains we just saw. So what did we learn from the trailer? Not a whole lot, we pretty much knew that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and his “army” are attacking earth and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) has to put together the Avengers Initiative. What we do get to see is Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) kicking the SH@$ out of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and potentially Captain America (Chris Evans). Also, an interesting scene is the one with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Eric Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). I wish I could remember where I read it or heard it but a few months ago there was a rumor of this scene being in the film before anyone had ever seen it and many people discredited the source. Regardless, good job to that person for proving the haters wrong. The only complaint I can see people having is that Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) has very little screen time in this trailer and that could disappoint a few out there. We still aren’t sure how big of a role he will have in the film, but don’t worry, I’m sure it will be enough to satisfy those out there.
Until people have time to freeze frame everything, there really isn’t much to speculate on this time. The dialogue was good, some may still think it is a bit cheesy but come on people, “This isn’t a Team, It’s a Time Bomb” is a pretty legit line. So let the countdown begin till May 4th and The Avengers finally Assemble.
