We have seen the poster and a few stills for The Bourne Legacy, but now we can finally see if Jeremy Renner can hold his own as a Bourne, well as Aaron Cross, who is kind of like Jason Bourne and yeah, you get the point. Apple released the first teaser for the upcoming new saga in the Bourne universe and we have it for you below.
So as you can see, we get a lot but at the same time not much, that’s the beauty of a teaser trailer. Tony Gilroy returns as both writer and director in what is now his fourth Bourne film, so we can expect to see everything transition over very smoothly. It was a bit refreshing to see Ed Norton back in action as well, which can only mean great things are to come. Along with Renner and Norton, Rachel Weisz also joins the new cast along with some returning familiar faces in Albert Finney and Joan Allen
So what exactly can we expect from the film when it hits theaters August 3rd? Here is a brief synopsis of the film:
The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.
