From The Good, The Bad, The Weird to Dynamite Warrior, it appears that Asia has become quite fascinated with the Wild West. What makes Asian westerns a bit different than its American counterpart is the inclusion of martial arts and very sharp swords, and that is exactly what we get to see in Wen Jiang’s new trailer for Let the Bullet’s Fly. By the way, this Chinese action comedy stars the always awesome, Chow Yun-Fet.
In addition to Yun-Fet, the film stars Carina Lau and even the director himself, Wen Jiang. Wen Jiang is actually one of the directors of New York, I Love You and is also starring in the upcoming Donnie Yen film, The Lost Bladesman.
The trailer itself looks pretty fun and chock full of comedic action so I’ll be curious to see who ends up distributing it in North America. The only downside to the trailer is that it isn’t subtitled so when you pick up on the comedic cues you don’t really know what the punch line actually is…unless you speak Mandarin. Either way the trailer is a joy to watch.
Below you will find a synopsis of the film, the trailer and the other movie poster for the comic western legend that is Let the Bullet’s Fly.
