What a bummer…
Even though we just saw Bilbo, Gandalf, and the Thirteen Dwarves in Peter Jackson‘s first set video blog, Thorin and Company have already lost a member. Robert Kazinsky, who was cast to play the dwarf Fili, has had to drop out of The Hobbit for “personal reasons” that weren’t specified, according to Peter Jackson‘s Facebook page, which was later confirmed by Kazinsky on his Twitter page (adding that it is a “health issue”).
Kazinsky is probably best known for his years on the long-running UK TV show The EastEnders and will appear in George Lucas‘ upcoming Red Tails. Jackson has yet to re-cast the role, but he mentions that this loss will not delay filming.
It’s a shame that an actor would have to pull out of the project of a lifetime, so it’s conceivable that Kazinsky‘s problems are serious. All of us here at MovieBuzzers wish him the best.
