I can’t get enough of these parody trailers for The Muppets. It’s a great marketing strategy that really hasn’t been used to this extent before, and, since it’s the Muppets, the jokes write themselves.
In each trailer there has been one bit that has cracked me up. Last time it was Danny Trejo, this time it’s Statler’s line about the obvious plot point. Yeah, I know the names of the two old heckler Muppets — does that make me lame? I think not!
The Muppets hits theaters on November 23rd. The script was written by star Jason Segel (who starred in/wrote Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Nicholas Stoller (who directed Forgetting Sarah Marshall), and is directed by James Bobin (TV’s Da Ali G Show).
