In case you didn’t know, the phenomenal martial arts hit, The Raid is set to be remade for American audiences.
If you’re a huge film fan like us, you’ll know it doesn’t need to be, because it was as close to perfect as could be. However, just like other smash-hits such as Oldboy, no matter how fantastic these films are, they’ll always be remade and the Indonesian martial arts film is no exception.
With the likes of Luke Evans, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo or Ethan Hawke possibly associated with the film, it looked well on it’s way to start production, but now it’s been reported that everything has been halted until early 2015. Which means we’re unlikely to see the remake until at least late 2015.
No reason thus far has been given by Screen Gems as to why this is but reports suggest with no official casting, bigger names are being looked at to try and get it off the ground and gain some much needed interest.
