After a series of postponements, The Red Eagle is nearly ready to hit the big screens in Asia. The Red Eagle, played by Ananda Everingham, is a film that seems to have been cursed in a way. After the original Red Eagle’s main star, Mitr Chaibancha, died in his final film, director Wisit Sasanatieng has been trying to resurrect the superhero in a modern version of the film. Right before shooting started, Ananda Everingham got into a motorcycle accident which postponed the shooting date. Check out the trailer and more after the jump.
Well I am glad to say that we now have a trailer and the film is almost near completion. With an October release date in the works let’s hope that we eventually get to see it in the states within the next year and a half. I am going to assume Magnolia will probably pick this one up.
Below you will find a plot synopsis for the film followed by the trailer. Thanks to twitch for some of the details and for supplying a high quality trailer (can’t always count on YouTube).
As a side note, tell me if you think that The Red Eagle is just a movie about Kato from The Green Hornet. You got the mask in a different color and you get to do without some talentless leader. The trailer also look pretty cool and has subtitles so it should all be smooth sailing from here down.
A nuclear power plant is about to be commissioned upon the signing of corrupt and power hungry politicians. The citizens are in frenzy, as they oppose this plan but they cannot do a thing about it. And so, a hero was born, chasing down the criminals and the corrupt, killing of whatever threatens the city’s well being. He leaves a card with his name simply as “THE RED EAGLE”.
