This Week in Trailers we have a collection of random films of all different genres including the new Scott Pilgram vs. The World trailer, The Lost Boys, and a new biographical movie about a drug dealer entitled Mr. Nice. All of these trailers are actually pretty good so I highly recommend checking them out after the jump. As always leave your thoughts in the comments section. Thanks.
Scott Pilgram vs. The World
Thanks to the facebook/viral campign to get 100,000 fans to like Scott Pilgram vs. The World, we have now been blessed with the second trailer. If you haven’t joined the page no worries since it is already up but it would be awesome if your name graced the fan page like yours truely. The amazing thing about this movie is that even if I don’t like Michael Cera I know he is going to be great but I am going to thank Edgar Wright for that. Anyway, check out the fun trailer and all of its awesomeness below.
Mr. Nice
You don’t see many dramas about drug dealing that come off as rather happy. We tend to witness some sort of demise in a trailer even if it does start off all happy-go-lucky. Well I am here to say that Mr. Nice, starring Rhys Ifans (The Replacements, Pirate Radio), is able to defy the odds in this enjoyable trailer.
Here is the Plot Synopsis:
During the mid 1980s, Howard Marks had forty-three aliases, eighty-nine phone lines, and twenty five companies trading throughout the world. Bars, recording studios, offshore banks: all were money-laundering vehicles serving the core activity: dope dealing. Marks began to deal during a postgraduate philosophy course at Oxford and was soon moving large quantities of hashish into Europe and America in the equipment of touring rock bands. The academic life began to lose its allure.
At the height of his career, he was smuggling consignments of up to thirty tons from Pakistan and Thailand to America and Canada and had contact with organizations as diverse as the CIA, MI6, the IRA, and the Mafia. After many years and a world-wide operation by the Drug Enforcement Agency, he was busted and sentenced to twenty five years in prison at the United States Federal Penitentiary, Terre Haute, Indiana, the site of America’s only Federal Death Row. He was released on parole in April 1995 after serving seven years of his sentence.
The Lost Boys: The Thirst
The Frog brothers are back in the third installment of The Lost Boys: Corey Feldman returns to his legendary role and takes the spotlight for the first time in god knows how long. He and his akwardly aggressive sounding voice are back to kick some vampire ass so check out the straight to dvd trailer for The Lost Boys: The Thirst below.
The Whistleblower
Lastly, the lovely Rachel Weisz has returned with a new scandalous drama entitled The Whistleblower. It seems to me like her role in this movie is similar to that of The Constant Gardener except her character is in the process of discovering deceit rather than actually knowing about the existing problems already. I think we can expect a great performance from her and the supporting cast including Monica Bellucci and David Strathairn.
Plot Synopsis:
A drama based on the experiences of Kathryn Bolkovac, a Nebraska cop who served as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia and outed the U.N. for covering up a sex scandal.
