Tony Jaa is making his Hollywood, and potentially English-language, debut as the Thai martial arts beast is set to join James Wan’s for the next installment in the Fast and the Furious series, Fast and the Furious 7.
Jaa will be joining Jason Statham, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson and possibly Ronda Rousey for the upcoming film that is currently on an accelerated schedule to shoot in September in order to make a July 11, 2014 release date. Details are sparse at the moment since Chris Morgan, the franchise screenwriter, is still working on the script.
Fast and the Furious 7 will pick up where the sixth left off, with Statham being declared the villain. How cool would it be if Tony Jaa were his evil right-hand man? I don’t know how they could lose but, then again, how awesome would it be to see Statham take on Jaa as well? There are just so many awesome possibilities my head might explode!
All I can say is it took you long enough to make the jump to the U.S., Mr. Jaa, and I’m glad that your name will finally be known here in the States. God knows I’ve recommended Ong Bak to enough people but they rarely seem to watch it. These kids have no idea what’s coming.
I loved Fast 6 but Fast 7 is already looking to be a winner and I can’t wait, how about you?
