Family comedies, especially about weddings, are always fun to watch, and of course there seems to be something about those all-star ensemble casts that get rom-com fans into theaters. The trailer for The Big Wedding seems to be a pleasant compromise of both with an impressive cast that includes Diane Keaton (Morning Glory), Robert De Niro (New Year’s Eve), Susan Sarandon (Jeff, Who Lives At Home), Robin Williams (Happy Feet Two), Katherine Heigl (One for the Money), Topher Grace (Take Me Home Tonight), and Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables).
The movie centers on Seyfried’s upcoming nuptials which force her divorced parents (Keaton and De Niro) to pretend that they’re still married because of the groom’s disapproving birth mother. Of course more dramedy ensues with a disgruntled Heigl who takes after De Niro, as well as Sarandon’s role as De Niro’s second wife, Keaton’s former best friend.
Under the direction of the film’s screenwriter Justin Zackman (The Bucket List), the movie is scheduled for an October 26th premiere in the U.S. Watch the trailer and share with us if you think this family comedy is worth seeing or if you like the combination of actors.
