Yes and Yes!
Did you ever think Harvey Keitel would star in an American set, Korean gangster slapstick comedy directed and starring the man behind Dragon Wars, Hyung-rae Shim? Neither did I but after watching the trailer I couldn’t think of anyone else that could be a funnier choice than Keitel to be the father of a Korean. It fits him just like Meet the Parents was a perfect comedic role for Robert De Niro.
The comedy that I’m referring to is The Last Godfather, a film about a mob boss going into retirement and passing on the “Godfather” position to his illegitimate son, Young Gu. Hyung-rae, in his American debut, is going old school with this slapstick comedy and that makes me happy because we don’t see too many of these anymore, at least with a good cast that is. The film stars one of my favorite comedians John Pinette along with Michael Rispoli (Kick-Ass), Blake Clark (Toy Story 3), Jocelin Donahue (house of the devil) along with many other Italian type casted actors. After the jump you’ll find the synopsis and trailer so press more for some wacky humor in the style of Chaplin, the Three Stooges and the Marx Brothers.
