It was a long time coming but the trailer for John Carter, formerly John Carter of Mars has arrived via Apple Trailers. The film, which is an adaptation of the popular Barsoom novels, novels marks prominent Pixar director Andrew Stanton’s (Wall-E) live action debut.
The trailer looks really good and, mostly because of the music, has got me pretty pumped up for the film. My one concern is that I like this trailer the way I liked the Tron: Legacy trailer. Disney put together a great looking film but when it came time for its release, it didn’t really deliver the complete package. The big difference is that instead of a rookie we get an Academy Award winner taking charge. so if you ask me right now, I say Stanton will deliver and John Carter will be one solid blockbuster
John Carter stars Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Thomas Haden Church and Willem Dafoe . You can catch it in theaters on March 9, 2012.

Synopsis: From Academy Award®–winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes “John Carter”—a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). “John Carter” is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
