Movie Buzzers last reported on the remake production of Leo Tolstoy’s classic drama Anna Karenina, starring Keira Knightly (Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World) as the controversial heroine in September. However, the Oscar-nominated actress, alongside Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows), Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass), Kelly Macdonald (Boardwalk Empire), and Emily Watson (War Horse) can be seen in the film’s official trailer.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the novel, according to IMDB, the story follows: “the aristocrat Anna Karenina [who] enters into a life-changing affair with the affluent Count Vronsky (Johnson).”
An image recently hit the internet of Knightley dressed to the late 19th-century Russian high society nines. As a result, additional news of a fashion line inspired by the film is going to hit the racks of Banana Republic, from costume designer Jacqueline Durran, featuring a ‘50s feel, but with a historical twist, according to WWD.
The line will debut in stores in October, while the Joe Wright-directed epic romance will premiere on November 2nd. What do you think of Knightley’s latest period piece? Do you think she is well-matched with Law as her rivaling husband? Are you going to see this movie?
