When the first footage from Life of Pi was screened to audiences a few months back, industry reps were very impressed and left me extremely curious with how Ang Li’s adaptation of Yann Martel’s novel would look. Having only seen the one still that was released, featured in the poster to the left, and not knowing anything about the novel I was excited when I found out the trailer was released this week and boy was I impressed.
Visually stunning and full of rich imagery, I can only say that Life of Pi is going to be a cinematic event for both cinephiles who appreciate beautiful cinematography and storytelling as well as fans of the novel. I won’t say much but I have a feeling the movie will be like a much more adventurous version of Cast Away, since both are films about isolated people.
Take a look at the trailer and synopsis below and be sure to let us know what you think of it in the comments section.
