The past few days have yielded a ton of new trailers for a wide array of films, which is never a bad thing. To make things simpler for all, we have decided to combine the trailers from yesterday into one convenient post . Unfortunatly we don’t have another The Avengers trailer, but we do have a nice selection for some pretty fun films to come. Here we go with the first edition of Trailer Madness.
First up is none other than Tim Burton‘s latest animated feature, Frankenweenie. The film features the voices of Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, Atticus Shaffer, Robert Capron and Conchata Ferrell. Here’s a brief explanation of the film: After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.
I’m still not sure how I feel about this film just because it seems a bit morbid and I don’t really know how kids will receive it. Will they become sad because of the theme? Will it scare them? Is it too much for kids under the age of 12? It has the potential to be very heart-warming film but I just don’t know. Check out the trailer and you be the judge.
Frankenweenie hits theatres October 5th in 2D and 3D
Next up, and sticking with the animated theme, is the teaser trailer for Despicable Me 2 which doesn’t hit theatres ’til 2013. We still don’t know a whole lot about the story for the second film which will feature Steve Carrell’s voice once again. For being very minimal, this teaser is pretty entertaining and will leave you with a smile on your face to see the very popular minions and their antics at it again. And just a heads up, this is the American trailer, they are just singing in whatever language the minions speak.
Here is the teaser poster to go along with it
Moving along, we now transition over to live action comedy and start with Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg‘s film, That’s My Boy. The film has potential but given Sandler’s track record recently you need to be pretty cautious about it. That being said, the film looks pretty hilarious and has the right mixture when it comes to a comedy. Hell, if you can get Vanilla Ice in a film smoking a bong and Rex Ryan (Yes, the Jets coach) playing a Boston Lawyer who loves the Patriots, some would say that is worth the price of admission alone. Check out the Red Band Trailer below and you decide.
The film comes out on June 15th, which is Father’s Day weekend.
Finally the last trailer worth mentioning today is another Red Band Spot for 21 Jump Street which features Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Rob Riggle and Dave Franco. The film is set for its world debut during SXSW Film Festival next week in Austin and I have to say this is one of my most anticipated films to see at the festival. I think everyone will be very surprised at just how entertaining it will end up being and hopefully it will be a success at the box office as well.
The Film screens at SXSW on March 12th so we will try and have a review as soon as possible.
