With WonderCon and SXSW officially over, it’s time for another edition of trailer madness and do we have some awesome trailers for you. We are going to jump all over the place in this one, from Sci-fi to ridiculous horror and maybe even a vampire hunting president. So here we go!
Prometheus released a full theatrical trailer this weekend during Wonder-Con and really gave us a great look into the universe Ridley Scott has created and a better understanding of the story. Be Warned, if you are epileptic, the last 20 seconds are a little intense.
Prometheus stars Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Idris Alba and Guy Pearce. The highly anticipated film hits theaters June 8th.
Next up staying along the lines of horror and sci-fi we have another trailer for the film adaptation of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter that like, the Prometheus trailer was shown during its panel at WonderCon. What I am most excited about in this trailer though is the ax Lincoln uses to take down the vampires. We kind of had an idea there was something special about the ax by the way he is able to swing it, but if I noticed correctly the ax also doubles as a gun. Bad Ass! Even though many will write the film off based on the title and concept, I still feel this film is going to be very enjoyable and a great time.
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter hits theaters June 22nd and features Benjamin Walker as good ole’ Abe
Now the last horror film of the day comes in a special form, a format that has never been done before and is sure to give audiences the thrill of their life in 3DD.Yes people we are talking about none other than Piranha 3DD and even better, the red band trailer. This film has to be the ridiculous thing in a while and I can’t wait for it. It has nudity, Christopher Lloyd, David Hasselhoff being a douche and a piranha living inside of a girl and biting the private of the guy she is about to hook up with! If that doesn’t scream blockbuster hit, I don’t know what does.
The absurdity continues June 1st and I would recommend the midnight screening, because this will be sold out for weeks to come.
Time to switch gears a little bit and go to something a bit more cultish shall we say. Sound of My Voice is an interesting independent film because it was shown back in 2011 during Sundance and received high praises but for some reason the film is just now being released.
Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius), a couple and documentary filmmaking team, infiltrate a mysterious group led by an enigmatic young woman named Maggie (Brit Marling). Intent on exposing her as a charlatan and freeing the followers from her grip, Peter and Lorna start to question their objective and each other as they unravel the secrets of Maggie’s underworld
The trailer is amazing and Fox Searchlight also released the first 12 minutes of the film which you can check out here. Be sure to check out the film when it hits theaters April 27th.
