By a show of hands, how many people knew that Ridley Scott had a movie coming out that was scripted by Cormac McCarthy, aka the guy who actually wrote the novels The Road, No Country for Old Men, and All the Pretty Horses, but also stars Michael Fassbender, Penélope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem and Brad Pitt in leading roles. Yeah, not many.
Yesterday a trailer for The Counselor made it’s way online and it’s got fast motorcycles, threatening voice overs, cheetahs and, naturally, some crazy Brian Grazer inspired hair on Javier Bardem. Pshh, if this one isn’t a home run for Ridley then the guy has officially lost his touch because this thriller looks like it’s going to be one wildly awesome ride fuelled by terrific acting, directing and writing. Check out the trailer and synopsis below and let us know what you think.
The Counselor hits theaters on October 25th.
The film tells the story of a lawyer (Fassbender), who finds himself in over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking
