It looks like Michael Bay and Megan Fox have put their differences aside since the Transformers series as Bay has announced via his website that “we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!” for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. Variety confirmed this by adding that Fox would be playing April O’Neil, the TV reporter from the cartoon series/computer programmer from the comic books.
I’m honestly not sure how I feel about this selection. Sure, Fox has the face to play April but her acting chops in action and dramatic films have yet to be something to be admired. Plus, I’m not sure how Megan Fox would look as a red head.
Last year there were a lot of issues surfacing with the main issue being the script, which is why the film’s production date had been pushed back from October of 2012. An old draft of the film had the feature focusing on the character Casey Jones with the turtles used as supporting ones, hopefully this was changed because I’d be pretty annoyed if the turtles weren’t the focus. The next step in the Jonathan Liebesman directed Ninja Turtles is finding the male lead, which could be any of the young “it” guys of Hollywood at the moment.
