MovieBuzzers continues to follow Michelle Williams, playing the legendary 50’s screen icon Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn. While filming is underway in central London, the impressive cast, which includes Kenneth Branaugh, Dougray Scott, Eddie Redmayne, Julia Ormond, Dominic Cooper, Judi Dench, and Emma Watson have been spotted in costume. With a paparazzi frenzy much like what Monroe herself would have faced at the height of her fame, photos caught a variety of shots of Williams in her wardrobe. Hit the jump to check out more pics!
With Simon Curtis directing, My Week With Marilyn is a story told through the diary entries of Colin Clark, played by Redmayne, who was a film assistant during the production of The Prince and The Showgirl in 1956. Williams is about the same age Monroe was at the time when the troubled starlet was filming opposite and under the direction of Sir Laurence Olivier (Branaugh). Clark documents the tense collaboration between the two world famous stars. Along for the ride is Monroe’s famous playwright third husband, Arthur Miller (Scott), and Olivier is accompanied by his actress wife, Vivien Leigh (Ormond).
Photographs reveal Williams adorned in Monroe’s signature white head scarf, quintessential round movie star sunglasses, a tan coat, and ruby red pout, while hiding from eager fans and press. Watson, who plays Lucy, the love interest for Redmayne’s character, has also been in the news lately for her oh-so controversial post-Harry Potter pixie haircut. However, a recent image of Watson on set shows her longer brunette styled updo, appropriate for the period in which the film takes place.
There is no release date set for the project, but there will surely be more pictures to come! Williams can next be seen in Blue Valentine. Watson stars in the next installment of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part One due for release in about two weeks, and then the sequel which premieres next year. Cooper is also currently filming Captain America: The First Avenger as Howard Stark, Iron Man Tony Stark’s young father.
